Product description

This 2023 Reissue 2LP set is housed in a gatefold, pressed on 180g vinyl.

Blur's sixth studio album, "13," is a bold departure from their Britpop roots, marking a significant shift in their musical style. Released on March 15, 1999, under Parlophone UK, this album is a testament to the band's willingness to experiment and evolve. With a runtime of 1 hour and 6 minutes, "13" blends genres like Britpop, Madchester, and alternative rock, creating a unique and captivating soundscape.

The album features 13 tracks, each offering a distinct flavor while maintaining a cohesive whole. Standout songs like "Tender," "Coffee & TV," and "No Distance Left to Run" showcase Blur's knack for crafting memorable melodies and introspective lyrics. The album's production is rich and layered, with each instrument and vocal track carefully placed to create a dynamic listening experience.

"13" is a reflection of Blur's artistic growth, continuing the experimental journey they began with their self-titled album. The band's ability to push boundaries and explore new musical territories is evident throughout the album, making it a compelling listen for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Whether you're a fan of alternative rock or simply appreciate innovative music, "13" is an album that will leave a lasting impression.

I can’t believe the reissue is so expensive. I’m glad I bought mine back in 2013.

An album that sounds better as the years drift by. Great album, we know that. This limited edition isn’t going to get anyone wet. You don’t get piles of extras. Just the CD and a poster in a fairly innocuous box. Must have made a few of these as Ive got number 165063 🤣. Wonder what the amount pressed was ? Nevermind, its a fantastic album. The next Blur album I like is Thr Ballad of Darren. That feels like a different life in a different world.

I know that this could be considered somewhat an Albarn album but I have so much feels for this album. It shows the genius of the band, it has so much good songs. Such various vibes. For me this is in my top 10 of best albums ever.

I feel like there's a lump on a certain bass frequency that makes it very resonant, the selftitled for example is much more flat (and pleasing). It also seems like there are slight distortions from the factory, throughout the whole record, popping scratching sounds.

A continuation of Blur’s departure from Brit Pop , so sounds very experimental… but only Coxen’s Coffee & TV is worthwhile, after that track the album gets darker and slower- actually quite boring
