My version has no issues at all... Never stuttered and sounds fantastic overall

This CD is a promo! The description here doesn't mention it.

  • Remastered Sound Quality Impressive

The sound quality of this remastered version is really nice, and it handles the dynamics better than the CD. If there was a decent vinyl release, I'd go for that, but this will suffice for now.

  • KISS's Underrated Hard Rock Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    MopoumSnocogapvDecember 27, 2024United Kingdom🇬🇧

This is a fantastic hard rock album, packed with really strong tracks. I'd describe it as contemporary, non-mainstream hard rock. In my opinion, this album has the potential to appeal to listeners who typically wouldn't give the band a chance. However, I think many of these potential fans might overlook this release, assuming the band is too commercial or pop-focused based on past experiences. I'd recommend that anyone who feels this way give this album a listen. It's truly a great record! On this album, they've toned down the catchy choruses that you'd usually expect from a KISS record. Before and after this album, their sound often included these choruses, sometimes wrapped in a heavier sound and other times in a straightforward pop style - especially in their mid-80s releases. Because of this, it probably didn't resonate with their regular fan base or the critics who typically review their music. Even the band seemed to downplay this album. Since it wasn't a success, which I'm sure the band anticipated, this album stands out as an outlier in their discography. After this, they brought back the makeup and returned to their familiar formula on subsequent records. Whenever I'm in the mood for a KISS album, I enjoy most of their catalogue from their debut up to "Lick It Up," a few select songs from their mid-80s pop era, and then quite a bit from the 90s onwards. I really like KISS, but I'm not the most die-hard fan, so I need to be in the right mood to pick up one of their records to play on my turntable. This particular album, however, aligns more with my usual musical tastes.

  • Avoid This Poorly Pressed Album

    1 out of 5 stars
    Stec-Ez-NocmbApril 15, 2024United States🇺🇸

This version of the album is an absolute letdown! Don't get me wrong, the music is fantastic, but this particular release is a solid 1 star. They squished the whole album onto one record, which really shouldn't have happened—it should've been spread across two LPs. I wouldn't have minded paying a tad more for a proper pressing. It's such a bummer. I gave it a spin on my Audio-Technica AT-LP120 turntable, first with the AT95E stylus, and then again with the Ortofon Omega stylus (just to rule out any stylus issues, but alas, it's the record). If it weren't for all the other complaints about this pressing (here and on other platforms), I'd have thought it was just a faulty disc, but it's clear this is a bad pressing, not a one-off defect. My advice: steer clear of this release until they drop a proper re-pressing (which I really hope happens).
