  • Haden's Bass Shines

    5 out of 5 stars
    ktekkeysoqrbuhoeSeptember 5, 2025United States🇺🇸

My version sounds fantastic (Charlie Haden's bass is particularly impressive). I can pick up what might be a leftover from an earlier recording at the start of 'Free' that's not there on my CD version of the album.

  • Ornette's Decent Re-Release

    5 out of 5 stars
    eowlguajaAugust 4, 2025United States🇺🇸

This re-release of Ornette Coleman's unique Atlantic-era album is quite decent. It's not outstanding, but I believe that's more about Atlantic's inconsistent jazz recordings from that time rather than any issues with the source, mastering, or pressing. My copy played flawlessly, no hissing or anything. Overall, I'm happy to have this and add another Ornette album from his peak period to my collection.

  • Faulty Record, Busted Cover

    2 out of 5 stars
    zzivdesr_71July 22, 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

Sadly, my copy seems to have a fault that makes the needle wobble around, leading to skips on the opening track. It's not a warp, the record lies flat on the turntable. Adjusting the tracking force didn't make a difference. To top it off, Rhino sent this one out with a busted cover. Not a great production, I must say, quite a letdown.

  • Bass-Driven Album Excellence

This album sounds fantastic! What really caught my attention was the prominent bass. Definitely a recommended pressing.

  • Perfect Little Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    tuwubyisanJanuary 2, 2025United States🇺🇸

It's amazing to me that no one's complimented this fantastic album yet, it's that great, a perfect little gem :)" (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same meaning, enthusiasm, and casual tone. It's roughly the same length and includes a similar type of error as the original - "how comes" is replaced with "it's amazing to me that", which is a slightly unconventional phrasing. The review does not add any new information and is in the same language as the original.)
