Volume's turned up loud, just as it should be. I'm digging it, though it might feel a tad squashed. But hey, that's how it's supposed to sound. Go ahead and snag it!
I'm in line with what others have said. It's loud, clean, and sounds fantastic. It doesn't quite hit the mark of Doolittle or Surfer Rosa for me, but it's definitely worth your time.
This is a complete deal. Incredible musical talent, top-notch recording, and a fantastic pressing that's smooth and shiny, along with great packaging. The presence and soundstage are outstanding, with solid instrument separation and clarity. The bass is warm and impactful. You can truly feel the recording studio's atmosphere. (Wait, did I just catch someone kicking a cable during a pause?)
Pixies fans, this is a must-have album. The quality is superb, crystal clear, and the volume is just right. I strongly suggest grabbing a copy of this record.
I gotta say, this record sounds a bit different than what others have said. Sure, it might not be the most perfectly recorded thing out there, but it's got a great punch and some solid detail! There's a bit of compression on tracks like "I've been Tired" and a hiss on the vocals that takes away from the overall awesome sound, so I'm giving it 4 stars. You might wanna keep the volume a bit lower! It's pretty loud!
