Product description

This is a 2022 Limited Edition released as a LP.

Dive into the sonic landscape of OSS's "Enter the Kettle," a captivating journey released on November 19, 2021, under Alex Paterson's new label Orbscure. This is the second album on the label, and it's a collaborative effort between Paterson and his long-time friend Fil Le Gonidec. With a runtime of just over 50 minutes, this IDM album is a testament to the duo's creative synergy and their shared history in the electronic music scene.

"Enter the Kettle" features eight tracks, each offering a unique blend of intricate beats, atmospheric textures, and unexpected twists. From the playful energy of "Whippersnapper" to the hypnotic grooves of "Delta River," the album showcases OSS's signature sound, characterized by its attention to detail and innovative production techniques.

The album's title track, "Enter the Kettle," sets the tone for the rest of the record, with its eerie melodies and pulsating rhythms. Other standout tracks include "No Speed Limit," a high-energy track that builds to a frenetic climax, and "Wow Picasso!," a more laid-back affair that showcases the duo's knack for creating evocative soundscapes.

Whether you're a long-time fan of OSS or a newcomer to their music, this album is sure to impress with its creativity and technical prowess. • Mixed Feelings on Vinyl

Received my copy via mail today, but there's some surface noise on parts of side A. Plus, the "hand numbered edition" thing? It's just on the hype sticker, and mine isn't even numbered! Does that make mine more rare since Rough Trade didn't bother numbering it? 😂

  • Lucky Pressing, Cool Vinyl

    5 out of 5 stars
    fnibgc.xewboanceJanuary 5, 2025United States🇺🇸

Fortunate this time round, unlike Sedibus, this pressing is top-notch. The vinyl is perfectly flat, the sound is quite lively, and yes, it does look rather cool. As always, I'm not a fan of these shiny inner sleeves that scratch records and create a lot of static. Therefore, others' experiences with this record will surely differ; some might find ticks and pops due to barely noticeable scratches, and I've heard some folks received warped copies. Clearly, it's a mixed bag with Cooking Vinyl, these records often have numerous flaws. Regarding the content, they could've thrown in a few more tracks. I'm not usually into this kind of music, the only track that stands out for me is Disco Bombing, and only the first part at that. However, this white smoke vinyl looks awesome and the cover artwork is stunning, so when it's playing you kinda enjoy it regardless of the content. Alrightish album. Grab it and if you're as lucky as me, you'll definitely dig it.

  • Solid Pressing, Minor Flaws

    4 out of 5 stars
    dzokoxq40August 29, 2024United States🇺🇸

Mine didn't have a number too. 🤔 What a shame. That said, the record sounds fantastic. There's a couple of ticks and minor pops, but a thorough clean should sort it out. I'd say it's a solid pressing.
