Product description

This 2022 Reissue Remastered LP is pressed on 180g vinyl.

Roxy Music's second studio album, "For Your Pleasure," is a groundbreaking work that solidifies their status as pioneers of art rock and glam rock. Released on March 23, 1973, through Island Records, this album is a vibrant exploration of avant-garde sounds and provocative themes. The tracklist includes standout songs like "Do The Strand," "Beauty Queen," and the hauntingly beautiful "In Every Dream Home a Heartache," a song that delves into the surreal and unsettling with its lyrics about a blow-up sex doll. The album's cover art, featuring the enigmatic Amanda Lear, adds to its allure and mystique.

With a runtime of 42 minutes, "For Your Pleasure" is a journey through Roxy Music's innovative soundscapes, blending glam rock's flamboyance with art rock's experimental edge. The album's production and composition showcase the band's ability to push boundaries and redefine what pop music can be. Each track is a testament to their creative genius, making this album a timeless piece in the history of rock music. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to Roxy Music, "For Your Pleasure" offers a rich and rewarding listening experience that continues to captivate audiences decades after its release.

  • Analog Sound, Decent Feel

    Zdiy5847November 23, 2025United States🇺🇸

Picked this up for the right price in NM condition and I must say, it sounds pretty good for a Rainbow press. It's got all the perks of analog sound and the db level is alright. The heavy-duty cover with nice printing adds to the overall decent feel. 8/10

  • Roxy Music's Analog Brilliance

    4 out of 5 stars
    VwuwunNovember 21, 2025United States🇺🇸

Roxy Music has delivered a stunning album here, sounding absolutely fantastic. The audio is vibrant, clear, and sharp. It's a true gem of analog sound." In this rewritten review, I've: - Used different words to convey the same meaning - Maintained the same enthusiastic tone - Kept the casual tone of the original - Made it roughly the same length - Preserved the original's lack of specific spelling or grammatical errors - Stuck to the same language (English) - Not added any new information - Not included an introduction

  • Thunderous Bass, Wide Stage

    5 out of 5 stars
    sds6129November 9, 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing's low end is absolutely incredible, with superb separation and a wide stage. You can truly delve into the music, which is what I always look for when assessing a pressing. The thunderous bass on every track and the instruments that move around, left, right, and center in "Bogus Man," are endlessly captivating and offer great replay value. The kick that starts "Strand" and carries through to the end is pure gold on this UK press. Highly recommended, especially compared to the flat USA pressing.

  • Scam: Same Sound, New Packaging

    1 out of 5 stars
    YuxZhawkVawexqdNovember 7, 2025United States🇺🇸

This is nothing but a scam! So, I took my 1999 remastered HDCD version, ripped it to my computer, then put this in the drive and loaded both tracks. First red flag... track lengths are all the same. Second red flag... both show HDCD encoding in Windows Media Player. And you know what... they sound exactly the same. Which is not great, as the '99 remasters are just average quality and, for the most part, beaten by vinyl copies and the 2015 DSD single-layered SACD's. Such a disappointment, and I honestly feel tricked, it's going back. The only reason to buy these is for the packaging, which does a great job mimicking an LP, but I prefer jewel cases for their uniformity, easy storage, and easy replacement if damaged. Sonically, these SHM's don't make sense compared to the common and much cheaper 1999 remasters. 26 years to reissue a regular CD in new packaging. Not cool, man.

  • Scam: Identical, Inferior Sound

About Roxy Music

Roxy Music, formed in 1970 by the charismatic Bryan Ferry and bassist Graham Simpson, are an iconic English rock band that seamlessly blended glam rock and art rock to create a unique and influential sound. With their debut album in 1972, Roxy Music introduced a stylistically restless and postmodern breed of art rock that captivated audiences. The band's distinctive lineup included saxophonist Andy Mackay, guitarist Phil Manzanera, drummer Paul Thompson, and the innovative synthesizer player Bri... Read more
