I gotta admit, the sound quality is fantastic, but €40 for a single jacket sleeve, discs with flaws on the sides and stored in flimsy paper without any safeguard... is frankly, a rip-off.

This is a must-have companion to James Brown's original early-seventies funk releases. The compilers added some annoying extras (a needless "bonus beat" edit of "Funky Drummer," and a random snippet from "Give It Up Or Turnit A Loose" stuck onto the start of "I Got To Move" as an intro) but overall, the tracks are full-blown, undeniable showcases of Brown's brilliance. "I Got To Move" alone is worth the cost; it's astonishing that this track wasn't released until 1986, when the original version of this compilation (missing the full version of "Blind Man Can See It," which appeared in short form on the "Black Caesar" soundtrack) came out. "In The Jungle Groove" is a must-have for fans and a solid introduction for newcomers too.
Possibly the sole JB record worth having...Digitally remastered, yet superb mastering and pressing. Absolutely groovy👌
Wow, this is awesome, it's a reissue of the 2014 remastered version.
