I'm really enjoying this album. I wasn't familiar with the artist beforehand. I took a chance based on the label and the cover art. I'm loving 'Back Back' and 'Slow Drag.' The melodies are a bit too repetitive for my taste, though.
The packaging is really poor and feels quite cheap. The vinyl also appears quite grimy. Fortunately, the mastering and sound quality are excellent. However, don't anticipate Tone Poet standard of excellence. Given this level of attention and packaging, they ought to be priced around 20$ max.
I concur - this is the grimiest 'new' LP I've ever seen. It's so unclean that I nearly didn't want to add it to my RCM. Maybe it's a trick (by Third Man) to manage expectations? If that's the case, it succeeded with me. My hopes were so low that I was happily shocked to discover it's actually enjoyable. Just...
Despite the not so good comments here, I was happily surprised. After giving it an ultrasonic clean, it sounds amazing. I'm really enjoying the music, it's quite uplifting. I grabbed it for a steal from imusic, it was on special.
Quite loud, but there's some awesome tunes too. Definitely would suggest this to a buddy! 😉
