Product description

This is a 2019 Limited Edition Reissue released as a 2LP set.

The Clash's third studio album, "London Calling," is a landmark release that transcends the boundaries of punk rock, showcasing the band's versatility and depth. Originally released on December 14, 1979, this double album was recorded at Wessex Sound Studios in London with the legendary producer Guy Stevens. The Clash's raw energy and political fervor are on full display throughout the album's 19 tracks, which blend punk, rocksteady, reggae, and rockabilly influences.

The title track, "London Calling," is an anthemic call to arms that reflects the band's concern about global events, including the nuclear incident at Three Mile Island. Other standout tracks include "Brand New Cadillac," a rockabilly-infused tune, and "The Guns of Brixton," a reggae-influenced song that addresses urban unrest. The album's diverse sound and socially conscious lyrics make it a timeless rallying cry that continues to resonate with audiences today.

"London Calling" was initially released as a double LP, and its remastered version is available on platforms like Spotify. The album's enduring popularity is evident in its inclusion in Rolling Stone's lists of the greatest albums of all time. Whether you're a long-time fan of The Clash or a newcomer to their music, "London Calling" is an essential addition to any music collection.

How do we keep reviews authentic?

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • European Edition Shines

    5 out of 5 stars

This European edition is incredibly quiet, really well pressed. The mix and mastering are top-notch too. It's punchy, detailed, with excellent instrument separation. I'm not sure what sets this 2015 MOV and Pallas Matt Colton pressings apart, but this one definitely sounds high-end. From a quick Google search, it seems this version was pressed at Record Industry in Holland. I have zero complaints about this one. For a classic double album that's pretty much flawless and reasonably priced, I'd recommend this version. Though if you buy it sealed, you won't know which pressing you're getting until you check the deadwax. But from what I've seen, these 2015 Sony/Columbia remasters with this barcode have generally good reviews. You can buy with confidence. • EU Version Flawless

Having received a flawed US reissue copy that was bent and dirty, I eventually found this EU version in a Chicago shop. It's flawless. Truly flawless. No imperfections, no noise, incredible audio. I'm happy I returned the US one.

  • Stunning Pressing, Flawless Album

    5 out of 5 stars
    miduv_hdauluf1094December 17, 2025United States🇺🇸

Wow, this is an absolutely stunning pressing of a flawless album. I swapped a few things to get a pristine copy, and I'm thrilled I did because holy cow, it sounds incredible. I'm in love with the sleeve too—it's a gatefold with a tip-on design, and that OBI is just so damn cool. I've got quite a few Japanese pressings, and this one is hands-down my favorite. It blows away even the high Japanese quality standards by a mile.

  • Original Pressing Treasure

    5 out of 5 stars
    qejub_lweavor0826December 17, 2025United States🇺🇸

I've got the original pressing of this album that my Dad picked up on release day in January 1980 from Strawberries in Boston. He even kept the hype and explicit warning stickers on the cover! The cover's a bit worn, but the records themselves are in great shape, easy VG+. It's one of the few albums he held onto when he was selling off his records on eBay right after I was born, and I'm so glad he did—especially since he kept the first two Clash albums too! The sound quality is fantastic, just as it should be. I don't spin this one much anymore since I've got a mint Japanese copy, but if you've got this press, you're in for a treat. It's an iconic album, one that everyone should have in their collection, in my opinion.

  • Blast from the Past

    5 out of 5 stars
    MpiltBuvmevGavuzxwDecember 17, 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

I shelled out $44.99 CAD at the Coles bookstore in the Eaton Centre, downtown Toronto, and let me tell you, this record is an absolute blast! I'm thrilled they took the effort to bring it over from Europe. I feel like the reviews before mine don't quite capture how amazing it is. The soundstage is incredibly immersive, the bass is pinpoint accurate, the tonal balance is spot on, the dynamics are off the charts, it tracks beautifully on my brand new elliptical stylus, and the drums... oh, the drums! They explode out of the speakers with an energy that's out of this world. It's as good as I've heard from those highly praised MOV-derived Tim Young pressings. This is genuine system demo quality stuff! The vinyl, pressed by Pallas, is as quiet as a mouse, with just a couple of light ticks on side 1 that I'm sure will disappear with more plays or a good cleaning. Side 2 is a tad off-center, but it's nothing to get worked up about. This just proves that "180 grams sounds better" is all just marketing these days. You might not be able to tell from the cover, but if the one you find has this catalogue number and barcode, is sealed, and is at a big retail store... chances are, it's this pressing. And this is the one. No, I mean THE one. It sounds so incredible, it's ended my hunt for a vintage pressing. Hardware used: Audio-Technica AT-LP60-USB turntable with ATN3600LE elliptical stylus, connected to Philips MMS321/17 multimedia speakers.
