This pressing isn't terrible, but it's not outstanding either. There's some static here and there. It's 'okay', I guess. Certain tracks, like "California", have issues with the studio mastering, not just the vinyl. It's not very dynamic or engaging when it comes to the soundstage.
Manufactured in france". brand spanking new. B side arrived with a massive scratch right at the start of the opening track and skips. absolutely awful!

Among all my NFR pressings, this one likely takes the top spot, though it's far from flawless! Similar to the blue and green versions, it has surface noise throughout, but it's significantly less than the others. Here's a quick rundown of all the pressings I own: Black: This one has the least surface noise, though there's still a bit. Side A sounds decent with just some crackles in the first track. Side B has a lot of crackles in "F it I love you" and some non-fill, but it still sounds alright. C & D sound the best on the black pressing, with only some surface noise. Blue: This one has the most surface noise! Side A sounds okay with surface noise and some strange noises in the first few seconds of the first song. Side B actually sounds the best on this pressing, with only some surface noise and crackles. C & D sound the worst on the blue one, with a lot of surface noise and pops. Green: Side A sounds pretty good with a little bit of surface noise and some small crackles in the first track. Side A probably sounds the best on the green one. Side B sounds okay but has some non-fill in the first three tracks, especially in "Love Song" (which doesn't sound that great). C & D sound similar to the black one, but with a bit more surface noise! If you're a true fan and serious collector, you should really get the green one since it's the most beautiful and it sounds pretty good! But if you're just someone who wants to listen to this album on a good-sounding vinyl, you should go for the black one.
The version I got was one of the poorest quality records I've ever had. I'm sending it back after my second attempt at listening, even after trying to clean it following the first play. As others have noted, there were terrible pops all over every track (?), some tracks had awful hissing, and each side of the record had different volumes (also ??). I'll be searching for a different pressing.
