One More Light - Linkin Park

Product description

This is a 2020 Reissue released as a LP.

Linkin Park's seventh studio album, One More Light, marks a significant departure from their previous works, embracing a more pop-focused sound. Released on 19 May 2017 through Warner Records, this 10-track album is a testament to the band's ability to evolve and experiment with their music.

The album features a range of collaborations, including 'Good Goodbye' with Pusha T and Stormzy, and 'Heavy' with Kiiara, who becomes the first female lead vocalist to feature on a Linkin Park studio album. Other notable tracks include 'Nobody Can Save Me', 'Talking to Myself', and the title track 'One More Light', a heartfelt ballad that showcases the band's ability to craft emotive and uplifting songs.

With a total duration of 35 minutes, One More Light is Linkin Park's shortest studio album to date. However, this concise approach does not detract from the album's impact, as the band delivers a series of hook-laden and atmospheric tracks that explore themes of hope, redemption, and personal struggle.

Produced by band members Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda, One More Light is a testament to Linkin Park's innovative spirit and their willingness to push the boundaries of their sound. The album's release coincided with the One More Light World Tour, which visited 21 cities in South America and Europe before being cut short by the tragic passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.

One More Light is a poignant and powerful album that showcases Linkin Park's ability to craft music that is both deeply personal and universally relatable. With its blend of pop, rock, and nu metal influences, this album is a must-listen for fans of the band and anyone looking to experience a truly unforgettable musical experience.

  • Linkin Park's Misguided Shift

    1 out of 5 stars
    BidgiakDaiselNovember 5, 2025United States🇺🇸

Linkin Park never quite grabbed my attention. I wouldn't rank them among the worst of the nu metal bands, but their popularity post-nu metal never resonated with me. I gave this album a listen to understand the hype. Frankly, it's a shame for the fans who anticipated a return to their rock roots. This new direction is all about drum machines, misplaced electronic beats that clash with their usual sound, excessive sampling, and a blatant disregard for the fans who supported them through the nu metal phase. Apart from Chester Bennington's almost childish jabs at fans who prefer their rock sound, the lyrics of "Good Goodbye" feel like a direct insult to their old-school fans ("I've been dominating this scene longer than you've been around, you fool. And it drives you crazy."). If you can evoke such feelings for a band I never particularly cared for, you're doing something seriously wrong. One More Light is anything but enlightening.

This album is absolutely amazing, it's a bit sad to look back after its release but I remind myself how lucky we were to witness this masterpiece. Stunning tracks, excellent audio quality, and not a single skip or surface noise to be found!

Check out the comments made before Chester's passing, then look at the ones after, and you'll be like “damn, this band's stuff is all golden now”.
