The color on this is gorgeous and it's likely the smoothest vinyl I have. No pops or hissing at all. Plus, the alternate artwork is way better than the original in my opinion.
I'm right there with the other reviews suggesting this should've been given the official track order treatment with a repress and remaster, but I'm still thrilled with this version. It's incredibly dynamic and punchy. Plus, the etching on Side D is just adorable. Having waited on the initial pressings, this was a fantastic way to get the ultimate Orquídeas album on vinyl, even if the deluxe ordering isn't exactly the same.
I'd have preferred if the track listing matched the digital version and that the album was spread across all four sides. Knowing it was essentially the same as the original, with just the bonus tracks added to their own LP and the other side left empty, I might have decided not to buy it.
Kali's got me hooked, no doubt about it. But here's the thing, they just repressed the original version and threw in an extra disc with a blank D side. It's like they didn't even bother to create a new master to match up with the track list on the streaming platforms.
