Absolutely gorgeous vinyl, fantastic packaging. Though, it's worth noting that the original poster isn't included, and it's not mentioned on the stickers either. I'm not sure if it's just mine, but the sleeves and/or inner-sleeves seem a tad split on the sides, maybe from moving around during shipping or the packaging material... but apart from that, it's an amazing piece for any collector!
While I'm aware that this EP has garnered positive ratings, it fell short of my expectations compared to Flying Lotus' previous works. Don't get me wrong, there are some creative elements and a few decent tracks, but overall, the EP lacks the deep atmospheres and quirky beats that I've come to love. Instead, it's filled with what I find to be silly, blippy beats and dissonant noise. Maybe it's just too avant-garde for my taste, but even the track titles seem to reflect a shift in his approach, leaning more towards the whimsical side. This reminds me of the late 90s when artists like Aphex Twin, Mu-Ziq, and Wagon Christ ventured into more experimental and, to me, less enjoyable territory. So, if you're a fan of his earlier work, I'd recommend giving this a listen before purchasing. You might enjoy it, but it might not be what you're anticipating.
