This Japanese picture disc of Rainbow is a visual masterpiece. Unlike many picture discs, the packaging is exceptionally high-quality; the cover art is crisp and high-resolution, rather than a grainy scan. While the audio quality is surprisingly good for a picture disc, most fans will be buying this for the aesthetic rather than the acoustics. The release features official Japanese market additions, including an OBI strip, lyric insert, and translated back-cover info. While these touches make it a standout piece, the vinyl itself appears to be the same pressing found in the US or Europe. Unless you are a completionist or happen to find it at a fair price in Japan, I wouldn't recommend paying a massive premium for what amounts to a few extra pieces of paper. It’s a great addition to any collection, but don't overpay for the hype.
Always loved this album from the bottom of my hearth. Can highly recommend the vinyl version. It's clean!
