Product description

This is a 2025 Reissue Repress released as a LP.

Death's sixth studio album, Symbolic, is a landmark release in the death metal genre, showcasing the band's technical prowess and melodic sensibilities. Released on 21 March 1995 through Roadrunner Records, this iconic album has stood the test of time, influencing a generation of metal bands and solidifying Death's position as one of the most innovative and respected acts in the scene.

Featuring a stellar lineup, including Chuck Schuldiner on vocals and guitar, Gene Hoglan on drums, Kelly Conlon on bass, and Bobby Koelble on guitar, Symbolic is a masterclass in technical death metal. The album's nine tracks, including the titular 'Symbolic', 'Zero Tolerance', and 'Crystal Mountain', demonstrate the band's ability to craft complex, intricate songs that are both brutal and beautiful.

With its blend of aggressive riffs, soaring melodies, and thought-provoking lyrics, Symbolic has become a touchstone for fans of extreme music. The album's enduring appeal lies in its ability to balance intensity and nuance, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in the evolution of death metal. As a testament to its influence, Symbolic has been ranked as one of the greatest metal albums of all time, and its impact can still be felt in the metal scene today.

Clocking in at 50 minutes, Symbolic is a dense, rewarding listen that showcases Death's unique sound and style. From the opening notes of the album's title track, it's clear that Symbolic is something special – a album that has left an indelible mark on the world of metal and continues to inspire new generations of fans and musicians alike.

    ruqghiejnpyepcujokDecember 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

Best equilibrium ever regarding heavyness/ melody, death/ progressive metal. Top-notch musicianship. Not given enough credit considering this is a beast of an album. A must-have in any metal collection, archive, etc.

  • Death Metal Masterpiece

    4 out of 5 stars
    weotsoosOctober 20, 2025United States🇺🇸

Metal isn't really my thing, but this album is an exception. The tracks are incredibly powerful and full of energy. I've given other Death albums a shot, but none of them hit the mark like this one does for me.

At last, it's back on the market! I spent a fortune on a near-mint 2014 white reissue last year. I didn't notice any remastering tampering when I gave it a quick spin. I still have the original CD I bought when the album first dropped, and it sounds just the same.

It's awesome! I picked up some noise during 1000 eyes' solo, not sure what's up with that part though.
