Product description

This 2000 Limited Edition Reissue LP is pressed on 180g vinyl.

Dive into the raw, unfiltered energy of the Red Hot Chili Peppers with their third studio album, "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan," released in 1987. This high-octane fusion of funk rock and alternative rock is a testament to the band's unique sound and chemistry, featuring all four founding members—Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Irons—on every track.

Recorded in the summer of 1987 and released in September of the same year, "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" is a vibrant and dynamic collection of songs that showcase the band's signature blend of funk, rock, and punk influences. From the opening track "Fight Like A Brave" to the closing jam "Organic Anti-Beat Box Band," the album is a celebration of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' signature sound, with gang vocals and infectious rhythms that demand to be played loud.

The album's standout tracks include the funky "Funky Crime," the introspective "Behind The Sun," and the energetic "No Chump Love Sucker." Each song is a testament to the band's musical prowess and their ability to create music that is both innovative and accessible. With its raw energy and infectious grooves, "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" is a classic album that has stood the test of time and continues to inspire new generations of fans.

Produced by Michael Beinhorn and mixed by John Potoker, "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" was recorded at Capitol Studios and El Dorado Studio in Hollywood, CA. The album's iconic cover art was created by Gary Panter, adding to the album's unique and memorable aesthetic. Whether you're a longtime fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers or a newcomer to their music, "The Uplift Mofo Party Plan" is an essential addition to any rock and roll collection.

  • Reissue Delivers Quality Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    puceurs91September 13, 2025United States🇺🇸

I'm no expert when it comes to sound quality, but I'm genuinely pleased with this reissued record. The sound is clear and crisp, and the bass is just right, adding a nice groove. I usually have my doubts about newer reissues, but this one really delivered. Plus, it came with a lined inner sleeve, which is a nice bonus that I don't see very often.

  • Red Hot Remaster Nostalgia

    5 out of 5 stars
    Dfop-DunMay 31, 2025United States🇺🇸

This record gives me serious nostalgia ;-). But the real kicker is that my copy scored an A+ on the Batwing test on both sides after just a quick clean. The sound on side A isn't quite as open and spacious as the lossless digital version. You can definitely notice the missing reverb on some tracks when you switch between the vinyl and digital. But side B is spot on with the digital, which is great. The remasters are way better than the originals. RHCP are one of my all-time faves, but I couldn't enjoy them properly until these remasters dropped. The originals had so much noise and were squashed to bits, it was heartbreaking.

It hasn't seen much action - it's in almost flawless condition!

  • Fantastic Press, Top-Notch Sound

    4 out of 5 stars
    jehw586May 19, 2024United States🇺🇸

This is a fantastic press, the sound quality is top-notch. I haven't been able to find any details to verify the source but I'm pretty sure it's digital. Doesn't matter though, it still sounds amazing, the remastering is spot on. The packaging is really good quality as well, includes a printed inner sleeve with all the credits.
