Product description

This 2001 Reissue Remastered LP is pressed on 180g vinyl.

ABBA's sixth studio album, Voulez-Vous, is a masterful blend of catchy melodies, lush harmonies, and a distinct shift towards a disco sound. Released on 23 April 1979, this iconic album topped the charts across Europe and reached the top 10 in countries such as Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. The album's title, Voulez-Vous, which translates to "Do you want?" in French, is a nod to the seductive and alluring nature of the music within.

Recorded at Polar Studios in Stockholm, Voulez-Vous marks a significant milestone in ABBA's discography as the first album to be produced at their own studio. The album's cover shot, taken at Alexandra's night club in Stockholm, perfectly encapsulates the era's glamorous and vibrant atmosphere. With 13 tracks, including the hit singles "Chiquitita", "Does Your Mother Know", and the title track "Voulez-Vous", this album is a testament to ABBA's ability to craft infectious, memorable songs that continue to captivate audiences to this day.

From the opening notes of "As Good As New" to the closing beats of "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)", Voulez-Vous is a sonic journey that showcases ABBA's signature sound, with Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus's ingenious songwriting and production taking centre stage. With its flawless blend of pop, rock, and disco elements, Voulez-Vous is an album that will continue to delight fans of ABBA and beyond, offering a glimpse into the magic of the late 1970s music scene.

  • Mixed 45 RPM Pressing Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    Xiti-UpfDecember 19, 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing is a bit of a mixed bag for me. The sound quality is impressive; I'm not detecting that high-frequency distortion others have mentioned, and there's no noticeable digital character to it. That being said, it's significantly louder, much louder even, than the older versions I've heard (I've only got the Reader's Digest collection to compare it to). The Abbey Road album seems to have taken advantage of the 45 RPM format to create a "hot pressing". As for the 45 RPM format itself, that's what really bugs me. I don't think the album was long enough to warrant a 45 RPM pressing, and as usual, you have to listen to a few songs before getting up. I would've preferred if it was just a half-speed master at 33 RPM. I'm starting to notice a pattern with the Abbey Road ABBA pressings and poor artwork. In fact, a new, cheaper pressing of "Super Trouper" on vinyl has better print quality despite costing about half as much. "Live At Wembley Arena" is even worse in terms of packaging, but at least it's at 33 RPM and the quality is superb.

  • Voulez-Vous: Poor Sound, Great Art

    3 out of 5 stars
    WdosKexUEDecember 1, 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

To start with, Voulez-Vous is an album that's really badly recorded and produced. Don't hold out hope for any amazing sound quality, no matter the pressing. This is the third-best version of the album you can get. The artwork on the whole DMM remaster series is fantastic - it's a mystery what went wrong after these were created, because the newer ones are all faded, resized, and pixelated trash.

  • Hungarian Pressing, Mediocre Sound

    3 out of 5 stars
    idfakcafrNovember 11, 2025United States🇺🇸

Awesome pressing featuring the alternate back cover with Hungarian writing. Sadly, the sound quality isn't great but it's still pretty cool.

  • Jazz-Pressed Pop Vinyl

    3 out of 5 stars
    juf.xifAugust 27, 2025United States🇺🇸

It appears the Japanese fellow who pressed this vinyl chose to prioritize Jazz records or the like, as it's quite treble-heavy instead of bass - mind you, it's a pop album! Still, it's more enjoyable to listen to than the French version.
