Product Description

This is a 2025 Reissue released as a 2LP set.

Audioslave's self-titled debut album, released on November 17, 2002, under Epic Records, is a powerful fusion of grunge, post-grunge, and alternative metal that marks the beginning of a new chapter for each of its members. This collaboration between Chris Cornell (Soundgarden) and the rhythm section of Rage Against the Machine—Tim Commerford, Brad Wilk, and Tom Morello—delivers a raw and intense sound that showcases the band's collective talent and individual prowess.

The album opens with the hard-hitting "Cochise," setting the tone for the 13 tracks that follow. Each song is a testament to Audioslave's ability to blend heavy riffs, melodic vocals, and socially conscious lyrics. Standout tracks like "Show Me How to Live," "Like a Stone," and "I Am the Highway" highlight the band's dynamic range, from anthemic choruses to haunting ballads. The album's duration of 65 minutes ensures a comprehensive experience, with each song contributing to the overall narrative of the album.

Audioslave's debut is a bold statement that solidifies their place in the rock genre. The album's themes of struggle, hope, and resilience resonate deeply, making it a timeless piece of work. Whether you're a fan of the individual members' previous projects or a newcomer to their sound, Audioslave's self-titled album is a compelling introduction to their unique musical identity.

  • Pressing Quality Issues

    2 out of 5 stars
    owcaomodiz9 January 2026United States🇺🇸

It's a pity the pressing quality is lacking. GZ can't be trusted. While the mastering is excellent, each track's intro is marred by unwanted noise. Quite disheartening. I even attempted cleaning, but it made no difference.

  • Audio Alright, Disc Warped

    3 out of 5 stars
    rqakz.yguutk6 January 2026United States🇺🇸

The audio is alright, neither fantastic nor terrible. But, the disc I received is quite warped.

  • Highway Track Noise Issue

    4 out of 5 stars
    kesebmape28 December 2025United States🇺🇸

Side 3's I Am The Highway got rabbit tracks noise at the start. What a shame, as it's the best track alongside Like A Stone. Grabbed another US 2017 copy, same issue. Has anyone else noticed this? Apart from that, it sounds alright. Curious if the Europe version or 2019 reissue is any better.

  • Dynamic Range Mastery

    5 out of 5 stars
    lumsnanjxsakmw18 December 2025United States🇺🇸

This album sounds incredible, with mastering that showcases a wide dynamic range, featuring deep lows and crisp highs. It's an ideal record for this kind of quality, as the bass and vocals really pack a punch and sound enormous.

Save your cash and skip the poor reprint of this album, this is the pressing you've been searching for: quiet, amazing, flawlessly balanced. Have fun!!Rate 8.5/10
