Even with the liner notes mentioning "sonic anomalies," this record is worse than a scratched-up original pressing from the 50s. It's so poor, it honestly shouldn't have been released. My copy's side A is packed with surface noise, and I'm not blaming the anomalies for that—it just sounds like a bad pressing. Side B is improved, but even then, it's not something you'd want to listen to after dropping $30 (+shipping!). I'm not a big fan of this version to torture my ears with it often. The bright side? It's a nice blue vinyl.
Definitely not some high-fidelity recording, but a great look into the history of Charlie Parker- worth owning for any Parker or jazz enthusiast.
