Can someone explain why there's such a tiny amount of artwork on the CD version? It's odd not having a booklet or any credits at all, particularly for a big record label.
Honestly, this album is absolutely incredible, possibly the top album from 2018, not just because they made a comeback but how they pulled it off...
This album is great, with fantastic ethnic instruments that create a really engaging atmosphere. But the recording's a bit dull and lifeless; it's got that usual digital feel. The mastering and pressing are pretty disappointing, with weak dynamics and those ridiculously stiff cardboard sleeves that make it a nightmare to get the record out without scratching it. Both of my vinyl copies are pretty scuffed up from these hard and ridiculously tight inner sleeves - it's a wonder they even play without skipping. When will record companies wise up and start using soft, lined paper sleeves that won't damage the vinyl? It just shows how few vinyl lovers there are out there if the people in the plants and design teams don't even know this.
Disc 2, track one has a harsh, crackly sound. It's not a top-notch pressing. One side sounds clear, but the other has crackling bits (both disc 1 and disc 2).
