Here's the rewritten review that meets your requirements: "This CD version is the first to bring back the solos that Richard Bock, perhaps not so wisely, took out (by Mitchell and Perkins) in subsequent releases, features the track included in a compilation, and restores the missing song that was nowhere to be found when this album was reissued on CD in the US. A fantastic debut from Jim Hall, who would later create many unforgettable recordings throughout his extensive career.
Great pressing, it's really flat and quiet. I got a download with my copy, plus an insert that lists other releases from ‘Back to Vinyl’. It comes with a white poly lined inner sleeve and a sturdy cardboard outer sleeve/cover. What a fantastic deal at this price!
Richard Bock, known for his excessive track editing, truly went too far with this re-release. In this reissued record, he trimmed numerous solos from pianist Carl Perkins and bassist Red Mitchell, and even went as far as to overdub Larry Bunker's drums, a musician who wasn't part of the original LP. Jim Hall's debut as a leader is fantastic, but if you can only find one version, track down the original.
