Putting out this album couldn't have been an easy feat. With the fans, the hype, and the lengthy wait, it's no surprise that this release falls a bit short. The sounds are decent, but certainly not exceptional. The recording, done entirely analog, still suffers from the over-compression of the 'Loudness War'. Plus, the tracks just don't capture that ethereal vibe like the second album did. It's not an awful album, but it feels incomplete, like it's missing something. Maybe the next one will hit the mark better. 3/5.
Received two copies today, one for my brother and one for me. The vinyl quality is fantastic!
Is it just me, or does A1 (She Found Now) seem to drag on this version? It just doesn't sound like I recall it.
Another brilliant work. It's unique, yet it shares a close connection to the 'Loveless' vibe. However, this one hits harder, feels more raw, isn't as polished, goes deeper, and perhaps tugs at your heartstrings more than 'Loveless'. With each listen, it grows on you, and as you soak in the tunes, they become more impactful.
This is a true gem in their discography, the genre, and music as a whole. After 24 years since their previous album, it's been a journey worth every second. MBV delivers an incredibly beautiful sound. Tracks like "In Another Way" and "If I Am" are so uplifting, they fill me with genuine happiness.
