What a stroke of luck! I snagged this copy for just $25 during a visit to Massachusetts last year. It's in fantastic condition, playing like a solid VG+++ throughout. This is my third favorite Ramones album (unless we're not counting It's Alive, then it'd be my second favorite), and it's where you can really hear them growing in their sound and songwriting. It's so much more polished than Leave Home, which also dropped the same year, and their debut album, which is my all-time favorite. "Why Is It Always This Way" is one of my all-time favorite Ramones tracks, and "Ramona" was one of the first songs I ever remember hearing and loving, back when I was just 4 years old. It's an incredible album, and I can't recommend it enough—it's a perfect starting point for anyone looking to get into the Ramones.
Awesome album. Sounds fantastic. Not quite sure if it tops the original pressings. Every music lover should have this vinyl in their collection. 4+ out of 5 for the sound quality. The Ramones might not be an audiophile band, but this one sounds really good. I picked up the 2022 version of this record, and this edition sounds even better! Perfect for cranking up the volume.
Awesome sounding album. Pristine and smooth. The clear disc is a cool touch and the album artwork looks fantastic.
I've got the original NM copy right here, and let me tell you, this is hands down one of the worst pressed records I've ever come across. Side A kicks off with some pesky repeating clicks before the first track even starts, and it doesn't take long for it to turn into a ridiculously LOUD patch of static that keeps on coming back with every spin. It's way louder than the actual music, it's terrible. It's so bad that I gave up after two attempts at cleaning it, and could only manage to spot check after the first three songs. I haven't got a clue how side 2 sounds, but don't even waste your time. Side 1 is absolutely unbearable to listen to.
Among my all-time top albums, absolutely a blast to listen to. The original punk trailblazers, what an incredible band. It's a shame they didn't receive the credit they earned during their lifetime. Sounds fantastic.
