The pressing quality is always a gamble, but this one's a winner for sure. This album is set to be remembered as one of the finest jazz trio records of the 2020s. The sound is absolutely flawless. But then again, what would you expect from a team like this? James Farber's engineering skills, paired with Mark Wilder's mastering and Ryan K. Smith's lacquer cutting—it's unbeatable! My copy is perfectly flat and plays whisper quiet. It's almost too perfect. And that's the only downside: everyone's so focused on this top-tier quality that the record misses a touch of Bill Evans' signature cool. (9/10)
This album is as delightful as a leisurely stroll on a Sunday afternoon in autumn. You feel content while it's playing and afterwards, you cherish the calm joy you just experienced, feeling prepared to embrace the evening ahead. The production and mastering are impeccable, as I'm sure Bill wouldn't settle for anything less and his team knew it.
When my copy turned up, it was a bit battered, with loads of marks and scuffs all over, I thought it might not play well. I gave it a clean, and although some marks were still there, I decided to give it a go. It was absolutely brilliant and perfect despite how it looked! The vinyl was super quiet, the music sounded clear and rich, and I'm really happy with it. It's truly excellent!
Comments about this issue are a few months old now. Grabbed a copy yesterday; it's perfectly flat, centered, and silent. Fingers crossed this problem's been fixed and I'm not the only one seeing this.
I'm absolutely thrilled with my purchase! This album is flawless and I'm certain it'll be a timeless addition to any music collection. The audio quality is phenomenal and the title truly speaks volumes!
