This is a fantastic pressing, arrived in mint condition. I was eager to explore more of Dupree Bolton's music after playing "Katanga!" on repeat. This album is amazing, it shifts from intense hard bop to relaxed chill vibes and even some technical showcases. So awesome!
This album is on fire! The bass might be a tad too low in the mix, but it's like you're at a live show and the dance floor is packed.
Among the two incredible tracks that make up Dupree Bolton's sadly scarce recorded work. His life was a total tragedy, a heartbreakingly common tale with jazz artists and the law. He bursts onto the scene here like few others. Fantastic music, fantastic recording, mastering, pressing, every bit of it.
This album is fantastic from start to finish! Make sure you give it a listen. I strongly suggest you check it out!
