Product description

This is a 2024 Reissue released as a LP.

"5150" is the eighth studio album by the legendary rock band Van Halen, released on March 24, 1986, under Warner Records. This album marks a significant shift in the band's sound, as it was the first to feature Sammy Hagar on vocals, following the departure of original frontman David Lee Roth. With a blend of glam metal, classic rock, and hard rock, "5150" offers a dynamic and energetic listening experience that showcases Van Halen's signature style and musical prowess.

The album opens with the powerful "Good Enough," setting the tone for the high-energy tracks that follow. "Why Can't This Be Love" and "Dreams" are standout hits that highlight the band's ability to craft catchy, radio-friendly rock anthems. The title track, "5150," is a fan favorite, showcasing Eddie Van Halen's virtuosic guitar skills and the band's knack for creating memorable melodies. Other notable tracks include the upbeat "Get Up" and the nostalgic "Summer Nights," which offer a mix of raw energy and melodic hooks.

With a total runtime of 43 minutes, "5150" is a concise yet impactful album that captures the essence of Van Halen's evolution during this era. The album's production quality and the band's tight musicianship make it a standout release in their discography. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to Van Halen's music, "5150" is an essential addition to any rock music collection.

  • Ultimate CD Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    sat04998October 19, 2025United States🇺🇸

This here is the ultimate CD take on this album. The audio is crisp, punchy, and rich, and blows away the regular US CD on Warner Bros which sounds weak and hollow.

  • VH's Awesome Start with Hagar

Hey there! Five stars all the way! This is like the start of VH and the beginning of the awesome Hagar time. No bad songs here at all.

  • VH's Timeless Rock Evolution

    5 out of 5 stars
    UtfSwet25June 24, 2025United States🇺🇸

Though it might not be as heavy as their prior works, 5150 showcases plenty of timeless rock tunes (like Good Enough) and explores new territories, including glam rock (Dreams and Why Can’t This Be Love) and even a power ballad (Love Walks In). Regardless of opinions on VH's new path with Hagar at the helm, you can't argue with the band's mastery of this fresh sound.

  • Clean Record, Great Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    Uhomumewkazw99May 10, 2025United States🇺🇸

This record sounds fantastic on my system. I make sure to give it a good clean before playing. It really makes a difference. I wouldn't think twice about buying this version if I came across a good copy.
