Product description

This LP is pressed on White vinyl.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2023, "A Storm In Heaven" is the debut studio album by the English rock band The Verve, originally released on June 21, 1993. This seminal work is a captivating blend of Britpop and shoegaze, showcasing the band's early sonic experimentation and unique sound. The album's ten tracks, including the memorable opener "Star Sail" and the atmospheric "Slide Away," are a testament to The Verve's ability to craft immersive and introspective soundscapes.

Recorded and released under Hut Records and later catalogued by UMC (Universal Music Catalogue), "A Storm In Heaven" is a 47-minute journey through psychedelic rock, indie rock, and dream pop. The album's remastered tracks, released in 2016, offer a crisp and clear listening experience, allowing the intricate guitar work and Richard Ashcroft's distinctive vocals to shine.

The Verve's debut album is a must-listen for fans of alternative rock and those seeking to explore the roots of Britpop. "A Storm In Heaven" is not just an album; it's a sonic adventure that captures the essence of a band on the cusp of greatness.

  • Damaged Disc or Great Album?

    5 out of 5 stars
    Wg_X_January 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

I'm baffled by the complaints about poor sound quality and crackling noises - Have you thought that maybe you got a faulty disc or it got damaged during shipping - face it, delivery guys don't care about our precious items nowadays! Fantastic album by an awesome band!

  • Vinyl Demo Collection Thrills

    5 out of 5 stars
    lefpjoosDecember 8, 2025United States🇺🇸

Thrilled to have found this on eBay when it dropped. Having the demos on vinyl is awesome. They might've just taken them from YouTube vids, who knows? Super smart move if you don't own the EP on red wax. Awesome collection of their career highlights.

  • Decent Reprint Despite Flaws

    3 out of 5 stars
    xvusuwzvoDecember 6, 2025United States🇺🇸

The way it's packaged might suggest a rushed, low-cost reprint, but it's not as terrible as some folks around here are saying. Mine has a bit of hiss and seems a tad lifeless, but not enough to ruin the music for me. Still a decent pressing for those of us who can't afford to drop big bucks on the original.

  • Enjoyed the Audio

Despite all the negative feedback, I took it for a real test drive and loved the audio. Really enjoyed it.

  • Damaged Vinyl, Poor Packaging

    5 out of 5 stars
    glceiwcuoqaNovember 14, 2025United States🇺🇸

!!!WARNING!!! The vinyl itself is great, top-notch ... I bought both "Storm" and "Northern Soul," but both came with corners that were badly damaged. The way they stick the jacket art onto the cardboard is terrible, causing creases that make the jacket look bent. Plus, no download card included. I haven't heard back from UDiscover Music (https://store.udiscovermusic.com), so I contacted PayPal. They told me if I don't hear from the company within 10 days, my money will be refunded and I can keep the merchandise. Ever had that feeling where you just wish you hadn't ordered something at all?

About The Verve

The Verve, hailing from Wigan, England, emerged in the early 1990s as a formidable force in the rock scene. Fronted by the charismatic Richard Ashcroft, the band initially consisted of Nick McCabe on guitar, Simon Jones on bass, and Peter Salisbury on drums. Later, Simon Tong joined on guitar and keyboards during their first reunion. Known for their evolution from atmospheric neo-psych sounds to anthemic alternative rock, The Verve captivated audiences with their emotive lyrics and powerful melo... Read more
