Product description

This 2016 Reissue Remastered LP is housed in a gatefold, pressed on 180g vinyl.

Pink Floyd's 1977 masterpiece, Animals, is a thought-provoking and sonically stunning album that showcases the band's unique blend of progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and classic rock. Released on 23 January 1977 via Pink Floyd Records, this iconic album is a symphonic rock and art rock tour de force that continues to captivate audiences with its haunting soundscapes and poignant social commentary.

The album's tracklist is a testament to Pink Floyd's innovative spirit, featuring the hauntingly beautiful bookends 'Pigs on the Wing 1' and 'Pigs on the Wing 2', the epic 'Dogs', the scathing 'Pigs (Three Different Ones)', and the haunting 'Sheep'. With a duration of just 41 minutes, Animals is a concise yet powerful statement that packs a considerable emotional punch.

Through Animals, Pink Floyd delivers a searing critique of modern society, using the allegory of farm animals to explore themes of power, corruption, and the human condition. The result is an album that is both a product of its time and timeless in its appeal, with music that is as relevant today as it was upon its release. As a work of art, Animals is a testament to Pink Floyd's boundless creativity and innovative genius, and it remains an essential listening experience for fans of rock music.

  • Best Floyd Sound Ever

    5 out of 5 stars
    RcitvHafxfmeideJanuary 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

This is an incredibly strong and bold mix that perfectly suits Floyd's most "hard-rocking" album, featuring deep, resonant bass and sparkling highs, with not a hint of distortion. It's also incredibly quiet - even quieter than some of the modern albums in my collection. Without a doubt, this is the best I've ever heard this record sound on any format.

  • Surgeon's Precision Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    zevpnduaJanuary 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

This record's fidelity is so precise, it's like a surgeon's work! The guitars cut through with the sharpness of a scalpel, and every detail is as clear as crystal. The bass is well-balanced, though not as massive as DSotM. It's an outstanding sounding pressing. [Tech specs in my profile]

  • 2011 pressing mystery

    4 out of 5 stars
    fjuokz_1January 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

I assumed my copy was from the 2011 release until I spotted the missing CBS Sony stereo logo on the corner -- that's what brought me here. This is a great pressing with a distinctive compression on the drums and bass throughout Sheep & Dogs, actually the entire album, which is absolutely mind-blowing with headphones. I stumbled upon my copy at some random record shop in godforsaken Indiana, so if you manage to find this one, I'd definitely say go for it.

  • Bold, Clear, Best Sound

This is an incredibly strong and bold blend that perfectly suits Floyd's most "hard-rocking" album. The bass is incredibly deep and resonant, while the highs are strikingly clear, with not a hint of distortion. It's also remarkably quiet - even quieter than some of the newer albums in my collection. Without a doubt, this is the best I've ever experienced this record sound on any format.

  • Surgeon's Precision in Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    muvlgcoaJanuary 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

The fidelity of this record is incredibly precise, like a surgeon's work! The guitars are as sharp as a razor, cutting through the mix with clarity. The details are pristine, and the bass is well-balanced, though not as massive as DSotM. This is a fantastic sounding pressing. [Tech specs in my profile]
