This is an amazing album. It's been growing on me and now it's stuck in my head forever.
Picked up a fresh, brand new copy (I'm guessing it's from the 2007 release) and it's absolutely killer - the bass is insane and there's not a single hint of surface noise, even on the softer tracks. Easily one of the top 5 albums of the 2010s.
Five stars! This is by far the best sounding National vinyl in my collection. It's got that perfect warmth. It's so real with tons of dynamics and an amazing soundstage. You can feel Matt’s voice on ‘Green Gloves’ right there with you. ‘Slow Show’ is a standout track!
Sound quality ain't perfect, but man, I love my signed copy from after the show at The National in Richmond. Me and my lil bro waited in the rain all alone, and they even invited us to a party. What a night!
This pressing isn't the best. The mix seems a bit confused and unclear to me.
