Product description

This 2022 Reissue LP is pressed on 180g vinyl.

Def Leppard's "High 'N' Dry," released on July 11, 1981, is a landmark album that catapulted the English rock band into the international spotlight. This glam metal and glam rock masterpiece is the second studio album from Def Leppard and marked a significant turning point in their career, introducing them to American audiences and changing the trajectory of rock music forever.

Produced by the legendary Robert "Mutt" Lange, "High 'N' Dry" is a high-energy collection of tracks that blend catchy melodies with powerful riffs. The album features some of Def Leppard's most iconic songs, including the title track "High 'N' Dry (Saturday Night)," which reached #33 on VH1's list of the 40 Greatest Metal Songs. Other standout tracks like "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" and "Let It Go" showcase the band's knack for crafting memorable hooks and anthemic choruses.

This album is also notable for being Pete Willis' last full-time album with Def Leppard before his departure. Despite this, the band's chemistry and musical prowess shine through, making "High 'N' Dry" a standout release in their discography.

The album's success was evident in its chart performance, reaching #38 on the Billboard 200 and #26 on the UK Albums Chart. It set the stage for Def Leppard's future successes, paving the way for their subsequent albums "Pyromania" and "Hysteria."

With a runtime of just over 50 minutes, "High 'N' Dry" is a testament to Def Leppard's ability to create a cohesive and engaging listening experience. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to their music, this album is a must-listen for anyone interested in the evolution of rock music.

  • Def Leppard's Best Album

    5 out of 5 stars

This record is awesome! I owned this album way back when, and it sounds just as fantastic as I recalled. Definitely Leppard's top album!

  • Black Labels on Reissue

    5 out of 5 stars
    muuxusuDecember 13, 2025United States🇺🇸

The copy I have matches perfectly with the jacket, inner sleeve, matrix etchings, and track listing. However, it features the black Mercury labels. It's odd because all the reissued versions that include the two extra remixed tracks also have the black Mercury labels. I would've assumed this version would've been phased out before it was re-released with additional tracks. Guess not.

  • Smooth and Clear Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    TeidOnutznaksNovember 21, 2025United States🇺🇸

Sounds real smooth and clear for a picture disc. No skips or stuff messing with the audio quality on my copy. This pressing sounds pretty good, if you ask me.

  • Fantastic Pressing, Amazing Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    Bulqk-HNOctober 31, 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing is fantastic! It sounds incredible, regardless of what others might say. To those folks, I'd suggest they might need to upgrade their equipment or stylus. Because, honestly, it sounds absolutely amazing to me! I'm pretty sure it's not digital. And if it is, then hats off to the team! I've heard an original pressing, and this one sounds just as good! Quality control did a great job here too. Just go ahead and buy it!

  • First Pressing Sounds Fantastic

    5 out of 5 stars
    jamdgqOctober 19, 2025United States🇺🇸

This is the first pressing. I'm giving it 5 stars because it sounds fantastic. The clarity is excellent, and my son's copy is remarkably quiet. The production is a bit thin and leans towards the high end, but the quality of the music, along with the great clarity and separation, makes up for it. A bit more bass and low end would be nice, but if you find a clean copy of this, it's definitely worth owning. I'm amazed at how quiet the pressing is after all these years.
