Product description

This LP is pressed on Black vinyl.

Parkway Drive, the Australian metalcore powerhouse, returns with their sixth studio album, "Reverence," a bold and adventurous exploration of their sound. Released on May 4, 2018, via Epitaph Records, this 42-minute journey through 10 tracks showcases the band's evolution towards a more melodic and accessible heavy metal style, while retaining the raw intensity that has defined their career.

Produced by George Hadji-Christou, "Reverence" is a testament to Parkway Drive's growth and willingness to push boundaries. The album features a prominent use of clean vocals, adding a new dimension to their signature sound. Tracks like "Wishing Wells" and "Cemetery Bloom" highlight this shift, offering a blend of heavy riffs and soaring melodies that will captivate both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Thematically, "Reverence" delves into profound subjects such as religion and death, providing a deep and introspective listening experience. Songs like "The Void" and "I Hope You Rot" tackle these themes with unflinching honesty, showcasing the band's lyrical prowess and ability to convey complex ideas through their music.

"Reverence" is not just another album in Parkway Drive's discography; it's a statement of their artistic vision and a testament to their enduring influence in the metalcore and heavy metal genres. With its powerful performances, thought-provoking lyrics, and innovative sound, "Reverence" is sure to leave a lasting impact on anyone who listens.

  • Poor Sound Quality

    ioduoikvDecember 6, 2025United States🇺🇸

This pressing is quite poor, the sound quality is muffled and lacks depth. I'd have been better off with the CD... Or maybe finding some FLAC files online. The music's alright I suppose but it's not as good as IRE (the album before this one).

  • Reevaluated, Enjoyable Moments

    4 out of 5 stars

December 2018, alright, even though these guys share my love for the same bands, I've never really connected with their music. I've given it a shot, even played this album multiple times. It's just not for me - still not a fan of most of the vocals, but there are some solid tracks and a few cool riffs. August 2019, 'Prey' is a pretty alright song. I also picked up on some more nuances this time around - there's more diversity in the songs than I initially thought. Some nice shifts in tempo. 'The Void' has a really cool riff and the vocals aren't bad at all. 'Shadow Boxing' is quite intriguing and 'The Colour of Leaving' is a haunting way to end the album. Bumped up the rating. 3.5 out of 5.

I'm curious about the 'black blob' on the vinyl. I received a piece with the same color as yours, and it's really ticking me off.

  • Disappointing Scratched Vinyl

    3 out of 5 stars
    Fi65if.AwidugsiApril 5, 2025United States🇺🇸

I gotta say, I was super pumped to spin this album on vinyl, snatched it up from my local shop right away. But man, was I let down when I saw it had some pretty bad scratches and scuffs, so both sides have these super noticeable clicks. Sure, it's metalcore, so on most tracks you won't hear it, but during those quiet moments, it's just so irritating. I'm really bummed, wouldn't recommend this version. But hey, maybe you'll get a better copy than me.P.S. The record itself is a masterpiece!
