Folks, this is the one you've been waiting for! It's a tie for my top Doors album with their self-titled debut. Initially, I went for the AP version, but it always felt like something was missing. I could never quite enjoy it fully. This release, though, brings a smile to my face with its powerful bass. It's smooth yet punchy when it needs to be... The vocals also stand out more than on the AP, which is a nice touch. It's an absolute joy to listen to from start to finish. Now, I've got to treat myself to the S/T DCC.

Yet another unique gem that sounds incredible. The 3D-like sound quality with ultra-clear details buried in the track is amazing. The bass hits just right and the drums are simply outstanding! I've known these songs since the CD days, so tracking down the first pressing feels like rediscovering them all over again. [Tech specs in my profile].
I picked up my used copy ages and ages ago. Fantastic pressing. A few tiny pops on side one. It's been cleaned with a VPI machine since then. Awesome tracks on it, but the final song on the album is out of this world, no noise during the quiet bits.
Update: I've been playing this way more than the AP lately. I reckon this might just be my new top pick. Not due to the speed, but the DCC really shines in cleaning up Morrison's vocals and adding some serious punch to Densmore's drums. That said, the AP still wins out on dynamics for "Horse Latitudes" and "Moonlight Drive". I do notice some harshness on "When the Music's Over", but it's not deal-breaking. Stacking this up against the '67 original, it's like night and day. My Monarch copy of that sounds like it's playing through tin cans. It's amazing how much better this pressing is in comparison.
